Our Story

Welcome to Kingdom Seekers!

At Kingdom Seekers, we are a church community that places a particular emphasis on eschatology, specifically concerning the present reality and the future manifestation of the Kingdom of God. We believe that understanding and living out the principles of the Kingdom of God is integral to our Christian journey.

We seek to equip our members to embrace the Kingdom of God in their everyday lives through our worship services, teachings, and community activities. We emphasise the essential role of Christian living and how it relates to the Kingdom of God, inspiring our congregation to integrate its principles into their thoughts, actions, and relationships.

We invite you to join us on this incredible journey of seeking and experiencing the Kingdom of God. As we eagerly anticipate its ultimate realisation, we strive to be Kingdom Seekers who wholeheartedly pursue the transformative power of Christian living and contribute to the manifestation of God’s Kingdom in our world.

Core Values

Christ-Centred

Placing Christ at the centre of all activities and teachings is crucial for Kingdom Seekers. This core value emphasises a deep commitment to following the teachings of Jesus Christ, seeking His guidance, and striving to live out His example in all aspects of life. It reflects a belief that faith in Christ is the foundation for spiritual growth, transformation, and salvation.

Discipleship

Kingdom Seekers values discipleship as a means of nurturing and equipping individuals to become devoted followers of Christ. This core value emphasizes the importance of providing mentorship, spiritual guidance, and educational opportunities to help individuals deepen their understanding of the faith, develop their relationship with Christ, and grow as disciples. It encourages a lifelong commitment to learning, studying scriptures, and engaging in spiritual practices.

Social Justice

Kingdom Seekers is deeply dedicated to the pursuit of social justice, embodying the Christian call to advocate for equality, fairness, and compassion within our communities. This commitment is rooted in the understanding that following Christ means actively confronting and seeking to remedy social injustices like poverty, inequality, discrimination, and oppression. We are called to serve, give, and stand up for the rights of the marginalised, embodying the love and compassion that Jesus Christ exemplified. This mission encourages our members to engage in acts of kindness, charity, and advocacy, aiming to create a more equitable and inclusive society that reflects God’s (now and not yet) kingdom on earth.

What we believe

Wesleyans believe in one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the Saviour of all who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life.

We believe that those who are made new in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit.

We believe in the Bible and its sufficiency to establish our faith and conduct.

We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and be made new in Christ.

We believe that the purpose of the Church is to worship God in spirit and in truth, and to reach a lost and fallen world with the gospel of Jesus Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.

Marc's Vision:

To see the Kingdom of God (peace, joy and righteousness) encountered, experienced and established in the midst of men and women.”
(Matthew 6:10, 33; 10:7-8; Luke 17:21)

Marc Wheway’s life journey is a testament to his diverse experiences and commitment to Jesus Christ.

Born in England in 1969, Marc’s early years were spent in New Zealand from the age of 4, and then he moved to Australia at the age of 10.  During his time in New Zealand, Marc underwent a spiritual awakening.  Later, while residing in Australia, he received a divine calling to dedicate his life to ministry.

At the age of 34, Marc made the decision to relocate to the United Kingdom and took on an executive position with the Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Scripture Readers Association (SASRA). Following his time with SASRA, he returned to Australia and assumed the role of Chief Commissioner of Everyman’s Welfare Service (formerly known as Campaigners for Christ). Marc’s commitment to missionary work led him to dedicate eight years to serving military personnel. After this transformative chapter, Marc retired from missionary service and embraced the role of Chief Executive Officer at Scripture Union (SUSA). Subsequently, he held significant positions within various ministries, utilising his expertise to make a positive impact in diverse capacities.

Presently, Marc serves as the founding pastor of Kingdom Seekers Wesleyan Methodist Church. In addition to his pastoral duties, he is a Partner and Director of a family business, demonstrating his ability to balance business and ministry pursuits. Marc continues to pursue academic endeavours, furthering his knowledge and applying it to business and ministry.

With a primary focus on the End Times, Marc has developed a deep understanding of Bible prophecy (eschatology), earning a PhD through Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary and a Master’s degree in International Relations through Griffith University. He has also authored several books on the subject of the end times, sharing his insights with readers worldwide. Marc’s passion for eschatology fuels his dedication to sharing his extensive knowledge with churches globally, transcending denominational boundaries.
